Gmail is probably something, which we all use every day. It is the most used E-mail service. Gmail is a necessity for most of us. We use it to stay in touch with colleagues and friends, keep up with the latest news, manage to-dos at home or at work – we just can’t live without it. Recently, Google announced major improvements to Gmail on the web to help people be more productive at work. Here’s a quick look at how the new Gmail can help you accomplish more from your inbox.
1. The new UI
First, the loading animation of the new Gmail is awesome!
Here is the look of the new UI (User Interface) of Gmail. The new UI is modern, clean, and minimal.
Also, with the new cool design, there are many features added to it. Such as the In-Line attachments. So, now you don’t have to open the mails just to download the attachment in it. You can download it using this In-Line attachment feature. Also, there are new Hover controls for deleting, arching, snoozing the E-mail.
2. Confidential Mode
We all have, at some point, shared our Bank Information, PAN card, Aadhar card details or any private data. And, we doubt wether it is safe to share such important information via Email or not. Google has come up with the Confidential Mode in it’s new Gmail. We can enable this feature while composing an email. This will let us set an expiry date for the Email. After which, it will self-destruct. We can also set a password for the emails. By using this feature we can prevent forwarding, downloading, copying, and pasting of email.
3. Snooze emails until later
Sometimes, there are Emails which are important, but we want to look into that later. So, by using the new snooze feature, we can snooze an Email. We can use the snooze to snooze it for – Later Today, tomorrow, next week, or we can also specify some Date and time. Also, we can snooze it until someday. All the snoozed emails can be found under the snooze label or category.
4. Smart Compose
It’s pretty easy to read your emails while you’re on the go, but responding to those emails takes effort. Smart Compose saves you time by suggesting quick responses to your messages. What smart compose is that it predicts entire phrases and sentences. It helps us to compose the whole mail based on our conversation and saves effort and time.
5. View Calendar, Tasks, Keep & Add-ons in the new Gmail
You can now use Google Calendar, Keep, Tasks, and Add-ons while in Gmail. On the right of your new Gmail inbox, there are icons for multiple options:
- Calendar: View your daily schedule, click events to edit them, create new events, and jump to upcoming events.
- Keep: Create checklists and take notes.
- Tasks: Add to-do’s and deadlines.
- Add-ons: Get extra Gmail tools to help manage your mail.
